Water Quality - What the Experts Say
Public Information Forum about the state of Key West's nearshore waters, as part of Last Stand’s campaign to make our beaches safe.
The Forum will be Wednesday, May 14, at NOAA's Florida Keys Eco-Discovery Center at the Truman Waterfront, Key West.
The program begins at 5:30 pm, followed by refreshments in partnership with Green Drinks
The program is free of charge and the public is welcome.

Tip #1:

Raise the thermostat and put your air conditioner on automatic when you’re not at home.

Tip #2:
Remove yourself from junk mail lists.  Go to www.ftc.gov to learn how.  It saves trees, water and greenhouse gas emissions for production.
Tip #3:
Change your air conditioner filter regularly and the filter on your clothes dryer.  Believe it or not, a dirty lint filter on your clothes dryer can use up to 30% more energy to get the same job done.
Tip #4:
If you don’t need to, don’t wash it.  Try to save a load a week.
Tip #5:
Try to buy local or regionally produced foodstuffs.  The closer in your food comes from the less energy it takes to get it to the table.

Energy production is one of the prime ways that greenhouse gases get into the atmosphere.  Loving your island means doing what you can to take care of the earth.  Here are some tips to do just that.
